Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery Statement for Man with Van Harrow Weald
Man with Van Harrow Weald is committed to conducting all aspects of its business in an ethical and responsible manner. This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps we take to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and our supply chains. It applies to all employees, agency workers, contractors, and suppliers who work with or on behalf of Man with Van Harrow Weald.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
We operate a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and exploitation in any form. We recognise that our responsibilities extend beyond legal compliance and include a moral duty to respect and protect human rights. We will not knowingly engage with any individual or organisation involved in practices that are inconsistent with this commitment.
All business decisions and commercial relationships must align with this zero-tolerance policy. Where we identify behaviour that raises concerns about modern slavery, we will take immediate and proportionate action, which may include suspending or terminating relationships and reporting concerns to the relevant authorities where appropriate.
Our Operations and Supply Chain
Man with Van Harrow Weald provides local and regional transportation and moving services. While our operations are relatively small and primarily local, we recognise that risks can arise in areas such as subcontracted labour, vehicle maintenance, equipment sourcing, fuel providers, and ancillary service suppliers.
We expect all parties in our supply chain to share our commitment to preventing modern slavery. We seek to work only with reputable suppliers and partners who demonstrate respect for workers and compliance with all applicable labour and human rights laws.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We are developing and maintaining supplier standards that set out clear expectations regarding ethical conduct, employment practices, and respect for human rights. These standards form part of our selection and ongoing assessment of suppliers.
Where appropriate, we conduct proportionate checks on key suppliers, which may include reviewing policies, requesting written confirmations of compliance, and making enquiries about recruitment practices, use of subcontractors, and worker welfare. For higher-risk categories or jurisdictions, we may implement more detailed due diligence and request additional documentation as part of our audit process.
If a supplier fails to meet our standards or refuses to cooperate with reasonable audit requests, we will review the relationship and may suspend, restrict, or end our engagement with that supplier.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
We encourage all employees, workers, and suppliers to report any concerns they may have about modern slavery or unethical labour practices connected to our business or supply chains. Reports can be made to a line manager, a senior member of the management team, or via existing internal reporting channels established within our organisation.
Concerns will be treated seriously, handled sensitively, and investigated as appropriate. We are committed to ensuring that no one suffers any form of retaliation or disadvantage for raising a genuine concern in good faith. Where required, and where it is safe and lawful to do so, we will cooperate with relevant authorities in investigating suspected instances of modern slavery.
Training and Awareness
We are committed to raising awareness among our team members about the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking. Training and guidance will be provided, proportionate to role and responsibility, to help employees recognise potential warning signs, understand our policies, and know how to escalate concerns.
Managers with responsibility for procurement, supplier engagement, or recruitment will receive additional guidance on assessing risk, applying our supplier standards, and supporting the reporting and investigation process.
Monitoring, Governance and Annual Review
Responsibility for overseeing this Modern Slavery Statement and related measures rests with the senior management of Man with Van Harrow Weald. We monitor the effectiveness of our approach through periodic review of supplier performance, reported concerns, and any incidents identified.
This statement is reviewed at least once every year to ensure it remains current, effective, and aligned with legal requirements and best practice. As part of the annual review, we will consider feedback from employees, suppliers, and stakeholders, as well as any changes in our operations or the wider regulatory environment.
Following each annual review, we will update our processes as necessary to strengthen our controls, improve training, and enhance our ability to identify and address risks of modern slavery within our business and supply chains.
